Hi @FBJON ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet Pro is experiencing issues with scanning, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem. Follow these steps to identify and potentially fix the issue:

Check Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network.
  • If using a USB connection, make sure the cable is securely connected.

Restart Devices:

  • Power off both your computer and the printer.
  • Wait for a few minutes, then power them back on.
  • Retry scanning after the restart.

Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your printer installed on your computer. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers.

Check Scanning Software:

  • Make sure that the scanning software on your computer is properly configured to communicate with the printer.
  • You may need to reinstall the scanning software or check its settings.

Test with Another Computer:

  • Try scanning from another computer to determine if the issue is specific to your computer.

Verify Scanner Settings:

  • Check the scanner settings on the printer's control panel. Make sure the scan settings are configured correctly.

Check for Errors:

  • Look for any error messages or codes on the printer's display. Refer to the printer's manual or documentation to interpret these messages.

Firmware Update:

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware. Check the HP website for firmware updates and follow the instructions to update if needed.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Even if the printer is not producing physical copies, check for any paper jams inside the printer that may be affecting the scanning function.

Scan from Computer:

  • Instead of initiating the scan from the printer's control panel, try using the scanning software on your computer to initiate the scan.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, you may consider performing a factory reset on the printer. This will revert the printer to its default settings, and you will need to set it up again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
