COPY SETTING ALWAYS DEFAULTS TO ID COPY.  I HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN IT OFF WHEN MAKING COPIES.

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

Disabling ID copy, setting the Paper Size to automatic and then making those settings as New Defaults may  resolve the issue. Here is how to do it:

1.) On the printer control panel display, touch Copy.

2.) Touch Settings, touch ID Copy and set it to Off.

3.) Touch Paper Size and select Automatic.

4.) Touch Set as New Defaults.
