Okay - I deleted the app associated with my printer in the application folder.  I searched for my printer here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/printers

found this link:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-color-laserjet-pro-m280-m281-multifunction-print...

I selected installed HP Smart (even though I already had this folder inside applications)

I see I have version 5.0 (latest per your website).

Using HP Smart, the scan worked  BUT when I select print nothing happens.  My job shows up in the print queue but just hangs (it's been 20 minutes and still nothing.)  I restarted my MacBook and tried again but it still hangs.

Help?

You may continue to use the HP Smart app to scan from your MAC, and print using the AirPrint driver.

Reinstall the printer using the AirPrint driver as shown in step 2 of this document. Now, try printing without using the HP Smart app.

Let me know how this goes.

No more hanging printer.  Thank you.

Scanner inside System Preferences...=> Printers & Scanners => Scan Button => Open Scanner... yields this error

"The operation couldn't be completed.  (com.apple.imagecapture error 4294957375.) (-9921)

Guess I just need to rely on the HP Smart app which works now.

Yes, you may use the HP Smart app to scan and print using the AirPrint driver. Make sure the macOS is up-to-date.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

I have the same issue. I've updated Mac OS, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer (per HP easy start) and successfully printed but the scanner continues to provide the error message (4294957375) Incredibly frustrating! 😞

What model printer are you using?

Which app are you using to scan?

Did you try using the HP Smart app to scan?

Keep me posted.
