I've been trying for days to get the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 302fdwg printer working again. Nothing works. I can scan with HP Easy Scan without any problems, but printing has not been working since the Tahoe 26.2 update. Everywhere I look, I get the message to request the driver from the manufacturer and install it. But I can't find the right one. I have one and I don't have one. Can you please send me a link or a driver file for my laptop?

Hi @CAT225,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 302fdwg is no longer printing on macOS Tahoe 26.2, even though scanning works. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
Remove the existing printer completely
Open System Settings → Printers & Scanners and delete the HP printer.
Restart the Mac to clear cached driver and spooler data.
Add the printer again using AirPrint
Go to Printers & Scanners → Add Printer (+).
Select the printer and make sure “Use” is set to AirPrint, not a specific HP driver.
Avoid installing legacy HP drivers
macOS Tahoe no longer supports many older HP driver packages.
If macOS asks for a manufacturer driver, cancel and continue with AirPrint instead.
Check the printer connection type
Ensure the printer and Mac are on the same Wi-Fi network.
If possible, temporarily connect via USB and add the printer again to force macOS to detect it.
Reset the macOS printing system
In Printers & Scanners, right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list.
Select “Reset printing system,” then restart and re-add the printer using AirPrint.
Verify macOS printer permissions
Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Allow any blocked system extensions or printer-related prompts if shown.
Check printer firmware
From the printer’s control panel or web interface, confirm firmware is up to date.
Older firmware can cause print failures after macOS updates.
Test with a basic document
Print a simple TextEdit document instead of PDFs or browser pages.
This helps confirm whether the issue is driver-related or app-specific.
Confirm scan vs print behavior
Scanning working confirms network communication is fine.
The issue is print-driver compatibility, which AirPrint resolves in most cases on macOS Tahoe.
I hope this helps.

Hello. Thank you for your attempts to help.
I have followed all these steps multiple times, and am still unable to scan documents. When I run the HP Smart App, the HP Diagnose and Fix feature provides a dead-end "'printer offline issue not fixed." My printer is online on the same network as my Mac.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled all apps, drivers, routers, and software updates. Also, I do not see an option for AirPrint when reinstalling.
I have not tried reinstalling Tahoe 26.2 yet. Is this the only option that will restore my office functionality?
