Hi.

On my MFP M577 it always shows this message in the display "Flatbed Cover Open"   but it is closed.

Any clue anyone ?

Thx for this info,

When i was looking at the hinges, I noticed the switch (plastic piece in the rear)  was stucked .  Released the switch and now its working fine.

The sensor that detects closed is not being tripped. We have had this happen when one of the hinges breaks. Look closely and ensure the cover sits flush when closed. Sensor itself could be bad.
