On the previous topic, it was mentioned that the hinges has a sensor, but can't find that sensor. the hinges are all mechanical, no electronic switches to reset there? Is it possible to request for photos? Thank you.

The sensor actuator is located on the flatbed surface near the left hinge. The actual optical sensor is mounted on the bottom side of the flatbed top and is accessed by removing the back cover of the scanner. A common cause if this issue is the left hinge breaking, the internal spring the extends downwards, lifting the lid slightly and stopping the lid from tripping the sensor. This is the cause of the open lid issue 90% of the time we see it.
