Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I'm using the HP app trying to send a Mobile Fax.  I've reduced my PDF file size to 15.7 MB and 36 pages.  The app is giving me an error saying "Your file must be a total of 20 MB or less."

Help!

I've tried this from both my iPhone and my Macbook via the HP app on each.  They both give the same error, and I am very certain on the file size and page count.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Mobile Fax is Trial Software -- it's been in Trial Mode for a number of years.

-- For those reading --

The size and page limits are hard-coded in the application.

Said another way:  There is not a method to bypass the limitations.

--------------------------

I do understand what you are saying --

  • Your file size is less than the maximum allowed.
  • You expect the application to work.

Mobile Fax generally works but might not accept your file.

The Mobile Fax TOS (Terms of Service) document says as much.

            -- Reference --

Mobile Fax – Terms of Service

Scroll down to section 6.  FAX SERVICE SET UP

Search the section for "Faxed Page"

------------------------------------------------------

Next,

The error message might be accurate in terms of what the application believes to be the problem -- the PDF file is too large.

OR

The error message might be the result of a problem but not one the application can correctly identify.

Said another way:

Something is wrong -- the application perhaps cannot or will not explain why the job tripped, failed, balked.

-- What to do? --

Try a smaller file / job to test whether Mobile Fax is working at all.

and / or

Perhaps split the PDF file into two smaller files.
