Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have this same problem as "CrankyHanky". Has there been a solution to this?

I uninstalled and reinstalled my software for this printer several times.  Each time after installation it leaves the name of each printer in numerical sequence.  When I attempt to scan, a dialogue box comes up showing all of the previous scanners as follows:

HP Officejet 8620 (Net)

Hp Officejet 8620 (Net) #2

HP Officejet 8620 (Net) #3

Whenever I select Scan.exe, that is what occurs as well as any software that I attempt to scan from.

I need to be able to remove all of these so I only have the one that actually works.  Two of the above cannot communicate with the software.

Please advise

These devices are likely populated from the devices and printers folder. On your PC go to control panel>devices and printers and if you see the extra devices listed, simply right click on the device and select remove device.

That is the problem unfortunately. The device/printer section just lists one printer. Deleting that one and reinstalling just keeps adding more instances of the printer.

Likely editing the registry would be required, something I would not be comfortable advising someone on as there is the risk of corrupting your system editing the registry if you are not well-versed in doing this.
