Multiple scans from scanbed into one PDF on MFP4301fdw

How can I scan multiple single sheet scans from scanbed and combine them into one pdf on a MFP4301fdw?  Not using the auto sheet feeder. I used to be able to do this on my old HP 6500A inkjet printer.  I understand how to do this using the auto sheet feeder but I need to know how to do it using the scan be and multiple single scans.

In addition to the Full Solution Software, the printer supports the HP Universal Scan software package.

HP Universal Scan - Full Feature Software and Driver 

Universal Scan -- like the original HP Scan software - includes settings to select / adjust the type of content to be scanned, the Page Size, and the Source.

Download / Save / Install the software

Restart the computer and sign-in

Open the HP Scan software (look for the shortcut icon on your Desktop)

Select / Open Scan

Set the type of content to document / PDF

Set Page Size to "Detect"

Set the Source to "Flatbed" / glass

Check More > Destination to select whether the scan content is "each to separate file" or one file for all.
