Everytime I scan and make photo copy it turns out the result is pure color black.

Need help to resolve this.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you. 
If your HP DeskJet 2875 scanner or copier is producing completely black scans or copies, it typically indicates a hardware issue with the scanner or firmware/software glitch. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the problem:

Basic Checks

  • Lift the scanner lid and inspect the scanner glass. Make sure it's: 
    Clean (no dust, ink smudges, or debris)
    Not scratched or cracked
  • Ensure no paper or object is blocking the scanner light path.

Power Cycle the Printer

Resetting the printer can fix temporary issues.

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Unplug the power cable from the wall.
  3. Wait for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Plug it back in and turn it on.
  5. Try copying a document directly from the printer (without using a computer).

Perform a Copy Test

  • Place a white sheet of paper on the scanner glass.
  • Press the Black Copy or Color Copy button.
  • If the output is still black: 
    The scanner bulb might not be turning on.
    Look inside the scanner while it’s working—do you see the scanning light moving and illuminating the page?

Update Firmware

Use the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. Firmware bugs can cause scanning/copying issues.

Reset the Printer

This is a more advanced step:

  • With the printer on, unplug the power cable from the printer.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cable and turn on the printer.

If scanning from a computer:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app or full driver package from the HP support site.
  • Try scanning from another app (e.g., Windows Fax and Scan, or Preview on Mac) to rule out software errors.
