My printer/scanner works wonderfully for printing, but the scanner portion doesn't work. It says that it's not recognized and has to be added

Hello,
Kindly check if you are able to make a standalone COPY ?
If copy does not work then, Power off the printer.
Wait for 30 seconds. Plug in the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet ( bypass the surge protector / power strip )
Open the scan lid and then power on the printer.
Check if the LED lights are glowing on the scan carriage and it moves from one end to other.
If there is no LED lit or the scan carriage gets stuck, then its time to get the printer service done

Hello,
Below are the steps that you need to try scanning using Chromebook
Update the Chromebook to the most current version of Chrome OS.
Click the clock in the bottom right corner, and then click the Settings icon .
Scroll to the bottom of the screen, and then click Advanced.
Under Print and scan, click Scan.
Select your printer, and then change any settings in the menu on the right and in More settings.
Click Scan.
