Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

My computer did one of those automatic "update and shutdown" routines the other day.  It must have upgraded the Windows Internet Explorer, which I don't even use.  I use Google Chrome or Firefox browsers.  Anyway, I tried to launch the "HP Solution Center" program the other day in order to scan a document to my computer.  However, the program would not open and instead gave me an error message saying that I needed to load a new version of Adobe Flash Player that was compatible with the current version of Internet Explorer in order for it to work.  I clicked on the link to download the Adobe Flash Player only to find out that Adobe has discontinued the Flash Player as of December 2020.  Is there a way around this bug or another HP program that I can use to control my printer scanner?  Please Help!

Hi,

Generally, the HP Solution Center software have nothing to do with an HP Envy 7644, it is intended for older HP printer, manufactured prior to 2010 (you probably have it from an old printer).

 

You would need to use the HP Smart app or the HP Printer Assistant Software for your printer, please follow HP Easy Start below to install the HP Software for your printer if it is not yet installed:

Regardless to your printer, the HP Solution Center software no longer supported to work due to Flash technology retirement:
