Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

I just bought a new HP Envy Inspire 7955e and it will not print or scan in color. I have a mac book pro. I need help please.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

 

Try these steps:

Check Printer Settings

  1. Open System Preferences on your Mac.
  2. Go to Printers & Scanners.
  3. Select your HP Envy Inspire 7955e from the printer list.
  4. Open the Print Queue or Printer Options.
  5. Check Color Settings: Ensure that "Color" is selected instead of "Black & White" or "Grayscale".

Verify Software and Drivers

  1. Download and install the HP Smart app for Mac to manage your printer.
  2. Check for updates in the HP Smart app and ensure you have the latest drivers installed.

Check Ink Levels

  1. Check Ink Levels through the HP Smart app or on the printer's control panel.
  2. Reinstall or replace low or empty cartridges if needed.

Print and Scan Preferences

For Printing:

  • Open the document you want to print.
  • Go to File > Print.
  • Select your HP Envy Inspire 7955e.
  • Click on Show Details to expand settings.
  • Ensure Color/Quality settings are set to Color.

For Scanning:

  • Open HP Smart app or any scanning application.
  • Select Scan and navigate to Settings.
  • Ensure the scan settings are set to Color.

Check Network Connection

If your printer is connected wirelessly, ensure it has a stable connection:

  1. Ensure the printer and MacBook Pro are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Run network diagnostics from the HP Smart app to check for connectivity issues.

Reset Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord and wait for a minute.
  3. Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.
  4. Retry printing or scanning.

Check Firmware Updates
