I just bought a new hp 5055 printer last Sunday. I scanned three documents theother day and then it stopped working. (The first try using the Scan icon on the printer did not work, so I used IrFanView to get those three documents. After I explored the File Explorer, I saw that the old printer 3520 was still on it, so I deleted the files. I Did not see the 5055 listed.
I opened Print and Scan Doctor, and everything worked exept one thing that I don't remember now. When I tried to run it, the screen said a newer version was avialble na did i want to updatae it? I clicked on YEs, and it ran for several minutes and then I got a Download failed msg.
The HP Virtural agent is no help.
I thought I had registered my printer yesterday, but did not received a verification, so I re-registered it before I began typing this message. I amstill waiting for a confirmation. EXcuse they typos. i am too mad to fix them.

It seems to work all right, as I scanned a document. IWhen I bought the printer, I assumed that I could connect it to my PC,. There were no instructions with the printer or from Office Depot that I should install the Full Feature Software. It has been incredibly frustrating over the last two days to register this printer, especially now that I realize that the product number is NOT the same number as on the back of the printer: it omitted one letter but added several numbers..
