My scanner doesn't seem to exist

I have an ALL-IN-ONE printer. It prints fine. But my scanner doesn't seem to exist. I've had this problem for as long as I've had the printer. IT DOESN'T SCAN AND I CAN'T FIND A SOLUTION. HP support has not helped. I usually get tired of looking for help from HP and their circular questioning is  ridiculous. I always give up trying to get help from HP and just use my husband's EPSON scanner.

True -- If you cannot find and install an app or software for scanning, the feature is difficult to use.

Normally, the Scan part of the printer would be included when you installed the Full Feature Software.

HP Smart (Windows) - the application - is also available and provides Scan and Print operation support.

If you have the HP Smart app installed and it does not scan, we can provide app Reset help - ask...)

The printer must be on the network or,  at the least, connected by a USB cable from printer to computer...

NOTE: The printer only supports connections using 2.4GHz.

No Scan??  What Happened?

No idea.

Sounds odd.

Can you at least use / try the Windows Scan app or Windows Fax and Scan??

These might provide fewer features than the other apps and software but should provide basic scan support for a printer the app can find.

If the printer is on the network, and the program can find it, Paint includes a Scan feature.

Ask if you want to see a general example...

Note:  For first time use, use "Add" to create a new profile for your scan job

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

The installation of the full driver adds at least two shortcuts to the Desktop:  

Printer Assistant 

HP Scan

When needed / wanted, enable "Scan to Computer" using the Printer Assistant

Open the Printer Assistant > Tab Scan > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable
