Just received my new HP Envy 6530e. I want to enlarge a piece of a sewing pattern by 50%. I have cut the pieces out and will enlarge individually but I don't seem to have a feature to allow to do that eg specifically in percentage terms. I go to copy and just get size optins eg buisness letter A6 bs176-250mm which is not helpful. Any advice appreciated

Welcome to the HP English Community --

Economy to low-mid-range class printers, of which this printer is an example, do indeed lack some of the features found in more expensive models.

No, I do not pretend to know which features are available in other brands of printers for cost - the comparison is HP to HP.

True - According to the specifications and the User Guide, the printer lacks a Resize for COPY.

Scan content sizes are treated as "scan as found" --

For example, HP Smart (Windows / Mobile) can adjust the resolution and the crop (boundaries).

Once optionally edited, scanned content can be saved.

The following examples do not represent an "all inclusive list" and are instead meant to illustrate some of the options available to resize your scanned / saved files.

Depending on the content type, the saved file can be "resampled" and actually made larger or smaller.  For example, this process is available using Photo Editing software for photo / image files).

Resize / "Resample" of the data is not always beneficial to the quality of the content -- the quality of the results depend on the original resolution. Resample / resize of the image data is available in Irfanview, for example.

NOTE:  This same Photo Editing software can also print your saved photo / image file in whatever size you wish.

Saved scan content can be printed in any size you want -- from selected size or percentage of 100% to Poster size where the PDF or Photo / Image is spread across one or more sheets of paper.

@Proarte58, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Enlarging and Reducing Copies on HP Envy 6530e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

For enlarging or reducing copies on your HP Envy 6530e printer, you can use the Resize feature. Here are the steps to follow:

Access Printer Settings:

  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Copy menu.

Select Copy Settings:

  • Within the Copy menu, look for the Resize option.

Custom Resize:

  • If you want to enlarge or reduce by a specific percentage (e.g., 50%), you need to select Custom or Custom Size.

Enter the Desired Percentage:

  • Input the percentage to enlarge (150%) or reduce (50%) your sewing pattern.

Confirm:

  • Apply the settings and start the copy process.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Sorry Zoey it does not give that option it is on the menu but when I touch it it clearly says this option not available. If you think it should be there as you know the product perhaps there is a software update I could access.

Sorry Zoey the option is listed but once pressed it states this option not available. Is there a software update as you believe it should be there?
