I used to have desktop apps for my 9015e printer/scanner that enabled me to manage scanning from my desktop. Those apps have disappeared. I have the HP Smart app installed, but I get an error message when I attempt to open it.  NOTE, I AM able to print from apps (like Adobe, Word), and I can create a scan from the app on my cellphone (which of course does not save the scan to my desktop).  I just need to get the apps back on my desktop so that I can put a document in the feeder and scan and save to my desktop.

The problem is that when I attempt to open the HP Smart app, I get the message "We're sorry, something went wrong. We couldn't load HP Smart right now, etc."  I have tried rebooting, redownloading, etc.  Nothing works.

Nope, that does not work, either.  All I get after going thru the prompts is a "Please Wait" and blue spinning circle and simply never stops spinning.

I understand you used to manage your HP 9015e printer and scanner tasks via desktop apps and are now facing issues with the HP Smart app. Here are some steps to help you resolve this and regain functionality on your computer:
 


1. Reinstall the HP App


2. Ensure HP Support Assistant is Installed

HP Support Assistant can also help manage your printer:

  • Download: Visit HP Support Assistant page and make sure it is installed so that it can provide driver updates and troubleshooting.


3. Check for Windows Updates

Ensure your Windows OS is up-to-date, as some printer functionalities rely on the latest Windows service updates.
 

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and tap Check for Updates.


4. Verify Printer Connectivity

  • Network Settings: Ensure your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
  • Printer and Scanner Settings: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners and verify your HP 9015e is listed. If not, you may need to add it again.
