My hp 8710 doesn’t send fax every time. I load my documents into the document feeder . I press fax now on the touch screen panel then I add the number it states it faxing which I know it is because it will ring then it says connected, but my documents in the feeder doesn’t move In to fax or comes out. Like suppose to which I don’t understand ? it will just stay there and then a confirmation page prints out  and says the fax was sent. I don’t get how thats So  if the documents didn’t even move in thru to fax or come out the feeder like it’s suppose to please help thanks

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!

 

Maybe the printer is not recognizing the original documents loaded on the top feeder.

It could be scanning from the flatbed scanner glass and could be sending blank documents as the originals are not recognized from the top feeder.

 

Let us check the functionality of the top feeder.

Please check if you can make copies from the printer using the top feeder.

 

If the top feeder is unable to feed the paper through, you can try these steps:

 

Step 1: Power Reset

  • Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector.
  • Turn the printer on.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait at least 60 seconds
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  • Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  • Try to fax the document again, if the issue persists, proceed to the next step

 

Step 2: Load the documents correctly and clear any obstructions in the paper path on the top feeder

          Refer to this video for loading the documents and clearing any obstruction on the top feeder.
