Here is a resolution for Network Scanning doesn't work - Windows WIA scan fails. You may have used the HP print and Scan Doctor utility which identified the (WIA) failure.

 

Open your printer in your browser using it's IP address.

Go to the Tab: Settings> Security> Administrator Settings

 

 Now find Printer Settings> Scan> "Scan from a Computer or Mobile Device"  add a check mark and apply.

 

Now retry your scanner.
