Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

New HP Envy 5020 AIO printer will not scan .        Messages " Scan Unsuccessful" &" An OCR application is not installed on the computer."      Printer and Copier are working OK.      Please Help

Welcome to HP Community

 

I suggest you uninstall the printer driver from root level and download the full feature software and the Firmware

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features 
2.) Select your HP Printer 
3.) Select Uninstall 
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers 
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’ 
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”) 
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab 
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 
10.) Select Ok 
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows 
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software and the Firmware from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions

WOW,  Followed each step of your instructions and reloaded the full feature software and everything worked fine.

Glad it worked but get ready for a bumpy road as the worst printer I have ever purchased - drops scanning function or wifi and just plain unreliable in essence. Shame but I guess I only have myself to blame as buy cheap buy twice. Currently mine says connected to wifi / ready / shows print levels and prints (miracle) but scanning just gives me the blue wheel of doom and states not available.
