Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Print and Scan Doctor software is no help with HP Deskjet 3050 All-in-One Printer series - J610

I want to copy/scan to files .. or email .. and the old Print and Scan Doctor is gone (?) ..

Are you getting any error message?

 

Meanwhile:

Perform root level uninstalltion to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers. 
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install printer driver

Hi Sandy, and thank you for responding to my post. Frankly what I really was bummed about was the fact that I can no longer access the 'easy to use' "Scanning program" that I used to employ with my printer/scanner. I didn't use it very often, and thought I was accessing it from 'Scan Doctor' .. but that might not be accurate. At any rate the scan 'software' feature is the only thing I am missing now, and I have just recently downloaded the free app "HP Scan and Capture" (Win 10) which succeeded in copying a particular document I needed. Soooo, my point is this .. while I thank you for the steps you included to 'wipe clean and re-begin' the original/new software ... if all I really need is to scan successfully don't I now have what I require with this app ?  IOW, if I thought I could recover that 'old' program that I used to employ I would definitely do the steps you included .. but short of that I am thinking I now have what I need. Thank you again Sandy .. I am marking your post as a 'success' btw
