Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. I cannot scan to email without putting in an email address manually.  The Address Book is empty.

Windows 7 doesn't support all the ways Scan to Email can be used.

 

For example, Windows 10 supports HP Smart - the application supports Scan to Email using an (sender) email address you have added to Windows Mail.

 

What to do?

 

Try / Consider...

 

This printer supports Digital Send

 

If the printer is on your network,

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to configure Scan-to-Email / profiles.

 

Example

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Scan > Scan to Email >  Settings / Scan to Email Setup

 

In subsection Address Book

Add email address(es) - each address added separately, one address per line.

Optional > Create a Group > Add one of more of the individual email addresses to the group.

 

Example - EWS - 9025 - Scan to Email / Address Book
