Hi @PdiM,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Certainly, I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot the issue with your HP OfficeJet 6950 and scanning on your MacBook Pro with macOS 14.1.1.

Here are some steps you can follow.

  1. Check Printer Connection:

    • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your MacBook Pro. If it's a wireless connection, make sure both the printer and the MacBook are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Update Printer Drivers:

    • Check if there are any updated drivers for your HP OfficeJet 6950 that are compatible with macOS 14.1.1. You can visit the official HP support website to download the latest drivers.
  3. Restart Devices:

    • Sometimes, simply restarting both your printer and MacBook Pro can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Similarly, restart your MacBook.
  4. Check System Preferences:

    • Open "System Preferences" on your MacBook Pro.
    • Select "Printers & Scanners."
    • Make sure your HP OfficeJet 6950 is listed on the left-hand side. If not, click the '+' button to add the printer.
  5. Reset Printing System:

    • In the "Printers & Scanners" preferences, right-click (or control-click) on the list of printers on the left side.
    • Choose "Reset printing system." This will remove all printers from the list. You'll need to add your printer again afterward.
  6. HP Easy Scan:

    • If you're using the HP Easy Scan application, make sure it's updated to the latest version. You can find it on the Mac App Store.
  7. Check HP Software:

    • Ensure that any HP scanning software on your MacBook Pro is also updated. Sometimes, third-party scanning software can interfere with the scanning process.
  8. Firewall/Antivirus Settings:

    • Check your Mac's firewall or antivirus settings to make sure they are not blocking the communication between your MacBook and the printer.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with scanning on your HP OfficeJet 6950.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
