I have installed all recommended software, i.e. HP Smart.app HP Easy Start 3.app and my printer is found and I can print. But when I want to scan, I am stuck with the resolution question which needs to be answered before scanning can be clicked. See screenshot. Any ideas. I have run through too many loops already, installing, de-installing. I am stuck.

Hi,
Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.
Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip
When HP Easy Start prompts to install HP Smart from the App Store, close this window and click on Skip to Software Download, then follow the steps on screen to install both Essential Software and HP Easy Scan, once completing the installation scanning should become available using either HP Easy Scan or from Printers & Scanners within System Preferences.

I did this three times today, except that the deletion of the installed software wasn't an option offered by the HP Easy Start menu.
I did it manually - and again and again.
But neither Easy Scan works nor is there any option to scan using System Preferences.

I tried to scan under Windows 10, but the same negative results. The LaserJet1536dnf pretends to be used already (I'm asking myself who could taht be, because I sit next to him) and too busy to work (scan) for me, even though I'm begging him for 6 continuous hours. Trying later is what I did. But to no avail.

Hi,
Can you make a copy from the printer with no issues, or may experience any problem there too?
Please let me know the results, to better understand any possible cause.
