HP Tech support in the Philippines is horrible.  HP told me OCR Software is no longer an option in the software which is false. I've been having problems with HP Tech Support for a week and a half, no one was able to answer the OCR Software and why is it when I install HP Smart and connect my Officejet pro 9025e ,  it doesn't not find my Officejet, I've went through so many Tech agents, one worse than the other. It's really a shame how HP Support has declined drastically over the years. I actually had to escalate it to the corporate office to try to fix the issue, finally they're sending me a replacement printer, I'm hoping I don't have the same issue because I currently have a new printer, now it's being replace with a refurbished one.  That's the rules with an extended warranty. The printer should be delivered this week.

I get that you are frustrated -- remote diagnosis is difficult for all involved -- the task is not for the faint of heart.

For many printers, the embedded OCR software that was part of the full driver printer software has indeed been removed from the installation package.  The  HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e All-in-One Printer  might not be impacted by this change - the software for this model series is different the software for less expensive models.

Opinion - The OCR software has naught to do with whether the printer software installs.

If the issue you were seeing was due to a fault that developed in the printer hardware, that same fault will not be present in the replacement printer.

If the installation issue is due to problems within the Operating File System, the source of the problem will not be corrected by changing the printer hardware.

Wait and see, I guess.

Be sure you do remove / uninstall all the existing printer software before installing the new printer.

Restart everything, including the router that controls the network.

If you need help, perhaps start a new thread at that time -- include the product name and the Operating System version in your description of the problem.
