OCR software, can see the printer/scanner twain

How do i setup so that other programs like OCR software, can see the printer/scanner twain to setup.

All we get at moment is cannot connect, but HP Smart works fine.

Sorry all just found out if i temp switch off AVG Antivirus it finds it ok, just remember to switch AVG back on afterwards.

Welcome to the HP Community --

If you have a recent version of the Web Pack Installation package stored somewhere in your archives (first check = Downloads, then check deeper in your backups) - and the date on that installation package is before about May 2022, use that to install your printer software.

What?

The embedded OCR software was removed from many of the installation packages in Mid-2022 .

No one ever said (that I'm aware) why -- I personally suspect issues with licensing or perhaps compatibility.  ?

What to do?

As mentioned, look for a install package in your backups,

or

Install the current version of the software (if not already done)

and

Look for a paid or free OCR software --
