My Office Jet Pro 6978 will print when I print from a device.  However, when I try to make a copy, it acts like it is printing slowly but when the page comes out, there is nothing on it.  The light bar does move, but sometimes not all the way across and the light seems dim.  The light appears green.  I have unplugged the printer while it is on.  Waited for over 1 minute and then plugged it directly into an outlet.  I then made sure that the printer was currently updates.  Still the same result.  When I review the image on the small screen on the printer, I can see the image that the printer/copier is supposed to copy.  However, the page comes out blank.

 

Please advise.

Hi,

Open and close the paper tray and evaluate the shown prompt.

Make sure the correct paper size (A4/Letter) and type (Plain Paper) are selected, else click No or Edit and change the value.

 

From my experience, I suspect a wrongly configured paper type may cause a such.

 

If that doesn't help, can you see all colors as shown by the sample when printing a Printer Status Report?

Dear Shlomi,

 

Thank you so much!!  We have not been able to print copies for over a year!!  We actually bought a new printer because it wouldn't make copies.  Once we changed paper type to "Plain", it works beautifully!!!!  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!
