HP 5510 all in one printer, sc

I have a HP Officejet 5510 all in one. When I copy a document or fax a document. The pages are black with white lettering. Basically unreadable. Have installed both new ink cartridges. Also when trying to align after the first sheet the one you lay on the glass is not recognized for alignment.  Appreciate suggestions to fix my problem

I understand that you have an HP Officejet 5510 All-in-One Printer that is producing copies and faxes that are unreadable with white lettering on a black background. I would like to help with that.

 

The fact that this happens when copying and faxing indicates that this is a printer hardware issue.

 

I would start by performing a Power Reset on the printer.

  1. Turn the printer off, wait about 10 seconds, and then disconnect the printer power cord from the printer.
  2. Turn off the computer or device that you are trying to print from.
  3. Connect the printer power cord to the printer, and then turn on the printer if it does not automatically power on.
  4. If your printer uses a wireless connection, restart the router.
