I am able to use APPS from the printer control screen to scan documents to an email I entered; now I would like to add an email address but when I try to do so, it requests a PIN which I do not remember or am not even sure I ever set up? It also gives me an option to click on Forgot PIN, but when attemtping that, it asks for an email AND A PIN! I need to know if there is a default PIN and if not, how to reset my PIN. I am successfully connected to my wifi and can print from this all-in-one from several devices. I just need to add a new email address to scan to using APPS/Scan to Email. Thank you.

Hi @ChristineWVA,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP OfficeJet 6962 printer does not have a built-in feature for setting up a PIN for scan-to-email functionality. However, you can set up scan to email on the printer using your email account credentials directly. Here's a general guide to help you set it up.

  1. Make sure your printer is connected to your network and turned on.
  2. On the printer's control panel, navigate to the "Scan" or "Scan to Email" option. The exact location may vary depending on your printer's firmware.
  3. Select the "Scan to Email" option and choose the email provider you wish to use (such as **bleep**, Yahoo, or Office 365).
  4. If your email provider is not listed, you may need to select "Other" and manually enter your email settings. Consult your printer's manual for specific instructions.
  5. Enter your email address and password when prompted. This allows the printer to authenticate and send emails on your behalf.
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to configure additional settings, such as scan resolution, file format, and destination email addresses.
  7. Once the setup is complete, you should be able to use the scan-to-email functionality on your OfficeJet 6962.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
