Why is this happening when I try to scan from my phone?  Removed my Android app and reinstalled. Did 3 printer factory resets. There was another issue, I didnt do the first reset due to this issue. The last 2 were due to this issue.

Hi @krbuc,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you are facing a scanner error.

To assist better -

  1. Are you able to make copies using the printer?
  2. Are the printer and android connected to the same network?
  3. What is the android version on your computer?

The image shared , indicates tha features are unavailable, let's try the below steps to install the printer

Update the printer firmware

Here are the steps:- Click here

Update your phone's Android OS.

  1. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select About Phone.
  4. Tap Check for Updates. If an update is available, an Update button will appear. Tap it.
  5. Install. Depending on the OS, you'll see Install Now, Reboot and install, or Install System Software. Tap it.

Then uninstall the app and reinstall it from the app store.

Follow the steps to scan from your device -

It's easy to create high quality scans using your mobile device’s built-in camera!

  1. On the Home screen, tap the printer scan or camera scan tiles. The scanning app will open.
  2. On this screen you can select the Settings icon to see what scan preferences you have set, like:
    • Auto-Enhancements: Improve the color and contrast of your scans.
    • Auto-Orientation: Rotate images right side up.
  3. If you would like to change the source of your scan, tap the source menu to select from one of the following:
    • Files & Photos: Import a document or photo as if it was a scan.
    • Printer Scan: Use your printer’s scanner.
    • Camera: Use your mobile device’s camera for an easy, quality scan.
  4. Select the preset you’d like to use while scanning:
    • Batch: Scan a sequence of pages or items one at a time, then combine them into the same file.
    • Photo: Optimize settings for turning a photo into a scan.
    • Document: Optimize settings for turning a document into a scan.
  5. Once you have reached the preview screen, you can add pages, reorder pages, or tap the edit icon to adjust or enhance your file by cropping, changing color, or adding filters and text.
  6. When your edits or additions are complete, select Done. The scan Preview window displays all changes.
  7. To finish, either print, share or save your file. You can also start a shortcut or fax from your device.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
