Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

Hello - like almost all inquiries here, my machine worked 'well' - well enough to successfully troubleshoot new issues every time I fired it up - until today: zero scanning function. Bluetooth is running, copies successfully, running from state of the art Mac - though it's telling the most current OS even offered for discussion here, macOS 12.0 Monterey, is over two years old [I'm currently running Sonoma 14.5]. Now, even as I type this, the bluetooth connection that was valid when I first initiated an attempted scan 30 min.'s ago is now defunct and will not reconnect.

Initially, the problem was the HP EasyScan laptop app software would not connect with bluetooth link established. Now, after several restarts, the bluetooth connection doesn't even exist and will not reestablish.
I would say this OfficeJet Pro 6978 is fairly new [purchased 2021], lightly used, has been moved to storage and back once with care, sealed properly in its original shipping container [and has been used since]. There is no reasonable issue that would cause this machine to be such a turkey, other than customer neglect by HP. I didn't buy this thing on sale, and it wasn't exactly inexpensive either. That said, the color cartridges empty out pretty fast as well.

Today I had found a similar, older scanning issue resolution here in the 'Expert Center' from 2018 with a link to a troubleshooting doc that was 404. For whatever reason, my specific model number doesn't show in most if not all online query dropdown menus [or lists] I've been pointed to; the closest one registers as OfficeJet Pro 6970. Lastly, there was a question in the thread from that very same 2018 issue resolution which asked about solutions for Mac users that wasn't even responded to, so I hope to sum all this up for all my fellow HP/Mac-users.

Hello - I have attempted to reply several times in a private message, which the system here rejected repeatedly, saying there was some disallowed code, which there was not. You can actually see the model number identification in the subject headline of this thread. I'd love to get that S/N to you. Please let me know if/when the private messaging function here is debugged. Thanks.

Just replying because someone at HP marked one of their replies as helpful or an accepted solution. They actually resolved my issue in private communication - absolutely nothing was resolved here in public, and I did not regognize anything in this thread as helpful or as a resolution of any kind. Whoever manages communications here in the 'HP Expert Center' is quite confused; unless they post the possible solutions here in public, I have not - nor will I - mark[ed] anything as an acceptable solution or resolved.
