OfficeJet Pro 6978 Scanning multiple documents into one PDF

I think my Pro 6978 use to scan multiple documents into one PDF.  I use the App HP Smart but I cannot find the + button Google search says to click.  How do I scan 10 document feeder pages into one PDF?  I see many many questions but no answers.  I hope this gets one.

Hi,

You may load multiple documents on the top document feeder (facing app) to scan multiple pages.

Additionally, ensure the select Scan Resolution is set as 300DPI or a lower resolution, else the Plus button won’t be available, as higher scan resolution’s don’t support multiple pages scanning.

Thank you much for your reply.  I am confused as to where to scan.  I currently have HP Smart set up and nowhere can I find the plus button to scan multiple pages into one PDF.  On my printer itself when I click on scan it says I am not set up to scan to computer however when I follow the link it asks to install HP Smart.

What am I missing here?  How do I install "scan to computer" if the link on directs me to HP Smart that I already have installed?

I cannot find anywhere to set resolution in the HP Smart icon.

I researched further and found this notation.  I am the one who set up the computer/printer.
