I can't seem to find a solid solution to get the screen past setting up the scanner.  It sends me to the install files page to run HP smart, which I run through, but the screen never changes.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Recommended Steps to Fix Scanner Setup Freeze

1. Perform a Full Power Reset

This clears temporary glitches:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
  • Turn the printer back on.


2. Reinstall HP App and Printer Drivers

Sometimes the HP app doesn’t fully register the scanner setup:

This tool can automatically detect and resolve setup issues:

  • Open the HP app.
