There have been other questions about this but I have not seen a solution. It's pretty simple. From the panel, I want to click "Scan to" then press the option "Computer." Then I want the scan to go directly to my computer (Mac), as it did with prior printers.
I'm truly amazed at how difficult this is. Why is the option advertised if it just plain doesn't work? Again, if anyone has found the solution, please respond. Otherwise, I will be returning this computer tomorrow.
To HP: I have owned at least 10 HP printers, including purchases for family members. The last two have gone downhill, including the 9015 and the scan options. This will certainly be my last HP if I can't make this happen. We scan more than we print, so this is extremely important.
Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Hi,
Scanning to computer is not supported on macOS with the printer, it can only be done from the Mac (HP Smart or Image Capture).
You do able to set up scanning to a shared network folder or email through a network connection, that will allow initiating the scan from the printer front panel
Also using Smart Tasks will allow scanning from the printer front panel:

It truly is a shame that HP cannot have all the functionalities of their printers work with the current mac OS. All of my previous HP printers were able to perform this function. It was very convenient and made my life easier. I was misled when I purchased the printer, as this product does not work as advertised. Is HP looking for a solution for this issue?
