Officejet 8720 has full software installed including OCR. How do I OCR existing document?

Welcome to the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, you are trying to scan the documents as editable text or OCR.


Don't worry, I'm here to help! Let's try these steps -


1) Load your original print-side down on the scanner glass or print-side up in the document feeder.

 

2) Open the HP printer software.  From the computer desktop, click the Start button, click All apps, select HP, and then select the icon with the printer name.

 

3) Click Print, Scan & Fax, and then click Scan.

 

4) Click Scan a Document or Photo.

 

5) Select Save as Editable Text (OCR) and click Scan.
