Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Officejet PRO 9020
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My previous HP officejet printer and the program to use it gave me options to scan multiple pages and then to save them as separate files.  Now, I have the new one and it only uses the HP SMART app.  That app isn't very smart.  It only gives me 2 options for saving a scan.  It will let me edit each page separately by basically cropping the page.  The auto straighten function doesn't seem to do anything.  But one of my biggest problems is that it allows me to use the autmatic feed to scan, but when I save to a file, it saves ALL the pages in the file. Even when I have cropped just one page and then click save- everything else that I scanned in this session is saved in the same file.

Once it's a saved document, I have tried to figure out how to cut and save each document separately, and nothing has worked.

Please help.  I am capable of walking between my computer and printer and scanning each document separately. However, I spent a lot of money on this particular printer because it is supposed to be able to scan several from the document feeder and then save them each separately.

Thank you.

Hi,

Please donwload and install the HP Full Feature Software below:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/OJP9020/HPEasyStart-12.1.03-OJP9020_49_8_4576_1_F...

Once completing the software information, open the HP Officejet Pro 9020 and click on Scan a Document or Photo to access HP Scan, click More > for the scan shortcut and select the Destination tab.

Click the File Type drop-down menu and then you may check the box to create separate files for each page, click OK and then save the changes for the shortcut

Thank you so much for your quick response.  I went to the link and Microsoft tells me there is the same program in their store.  I changed my settings so I could get the original.  I started the process.  I got this far-

Connected printing services

In order to deliver printing and cloud services, technical data is collected from printers that you choose to pair with your app or HP account if you have one. This data is necessary to support printer features and operation. Learn more

With your permission, we use this data to support business operations and strategy, improve and personalize features and serve relevant ads to you on other platforms. HP does not access the content of any shared or printed files.

Select Manage Options to decide by category how your information is used. By selecting Accept All, you opt-in to printer analytics, advertising and personalization.

Update your privacy settings anytime in HP Smart by selecting the printer graphic in the app. You will still be able to use the printer and features regardless of your data choices.

There isn't anything else. no continue button, no go back option.  So I closed the window and got the - the program isni't finished yet and you will lose everything... So I opted to continue, which brings me back to the same window I just pasted here.

This has been an ongoing problem since I first got my printer.  I think that's why I went with the HP Smart app.

So, I removed all the HP printer programs etc and used the link that you suggested.  This time, it still gets stuck as before. There's an option to skip and just download the program/drivers.   SURPRISE!  The only thing that would download and install is HP SMART app.
