Hello,

I have a officejet pro 8025 printer and I have an email address from my old job that I want to remove.  This is in the scan to email function on the printer.  I no longer have access to this email address and I tried factory resetting the printer several times.  I also and also typed in the printers ip address onto a browser to access EWS and clicked on the scan tab, but there is no scan to email option.  There is a scan to computer option, but it states that I cant use this feature as it is disabled and to contact the person who setup the printer.  How do I remove my old job's email address from the scan to email function?

@Pakman777, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To remove the old email address from the "Scan to Email" feature on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025, you can try the following steps:

Option 1: Using the HP Smart App (If Available)

  1. Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  2. Go to Printer Settings.
  3. Under the Scan section, look for the Scan to Email settings.
  4. Here, you should see the option to delete or modify the email address.
  5. Remove the old email address and add a new one if necessary.

Option 2: Using Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Since you've already accessed the printer's EWS (Embedded Web Server), follow these steps:

  1. Open a web browser and enter the printer's IP address to access the EWS.
  2. Navigate to the Scan tab.
  3. If you still don't see the "Scan to Email" option, check under the Email Setup or Scan Settings.
  4. Disable the Scan to Email feature if it's listed and then re-enable it. This should allow you to add a new email address.
  5. If the Scan to Email option still doesn't appear, try going to the Network Settings section and ensure that the printer is correctly connected to your network. Sometimes this setting can influence the ability to use email functions.

Option 3: Reset Scan to Email Settings

If you are still unable to remove the old email address, you can try these steps to reset the scan settings:

  • Factory Reset the Scan Settings:
  1. On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup or Settings.
  2. Select Restore or Reset.
  3. If there is an option for Reset Scan Settings or similar, select it. This should remove all previous settings related to scanning, including email addresses.
  • Reconfigure Scan to Email: After the reset, go to the Scan to Email setup page in EWS or the printer settings menu and set up the desired email address again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello, thank you so much for the info.  I have tried all of thede options with no luck.  After resetting the scan setting, the email remains.  EWS doesnt show scan to emai and I dont see scan to email on thr HP smart app.  Is there any other way?  Please advise, thank you.

@Pakman777, Thank you for your response.

Since the email address persists even after factory resets and doesn't appear in HP Smart or the EWS, it's likely that the Scan to Email profile was set up using HP’s Web Services / HP Connected (cloud-based configuration), and it's stored on HP’s servers, not just locally on the printer. This is common when Scan to Email was originally configured via HP Connected (used with ePrint/Web Services), especially in business or managed environments.

Here's what you can try next:

Disable and Re-enable Web Services

This often forces the printer to forget cloud-stored data like old Scan to Email profiles.Steps:

  1. On the printer's control panel, tap Settings > Web Services > Remove Web Services (or "Disable Web Services").
  2. Confirm and allow the printer to process the removal (this may take a minute or two).
  3. After it's removed, power cycle the printer.
  4. Then go back to Settings > Web Services > Enable Web Services.
    • The printer will print a new info sheet with a new code and ePrint email address.
  5. Now check if the old email address is gone when you access Scan to Email.

Access HP Connected Account

If the printer was previously registered to an HP Connected account (also known as HP Smart account online), it may still be tied to that account.Go to HP Smart and sign in with your current or old HP account (possibly your work email if that's what was used). If you can access the printer there:

  • You’ll be able to remove the printer from the account.
  • Or, reset its email profile under the Settings > Scan to Email section.

I hope this helps!
