Officejet Pro 8710 won't scan/share to outlook.

I have had this printer for a year for so and periodically try to resolve this issue as it's really annoying.

Every time I try to scan to email - the only option that comes up is Mail.  I am using Office 365 and use Outlook as my mail programme, but it doesn't give you the option.

The link that comes up on this page for the solution doesn't work any more.

I have tried contacting HP a few times, but they say there isn't a solution which seems strange.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I can't believe that a printer can't share to Outlook.

Any help much appreciated.

Guessing that you are using HP Smart for Windows.

Have you tried adding your email address to Windows Mail?

Why?

Windows Mail generally works for this purpose without issue.

After you add your email address to Windows Mail,

Open HP Smart

Select Scan

Set up job parameters

At the save / share menu, select Share

Select one (if any) email address across the top

Else

If available, select to open your address book and pick an address (may not work as expected)

Else

Select the Blue Windows Mail mailbox > next Menu, select your "sending" email address

Thanks, but I know I can scan to Mail - I want to be able to share/scan to Outlook.

OK.  Try something else...

Try using (blue Shortcut) HP Scan - part of your installed Full Feature Software (full driver).

Printer_Assistant_Shortcut_Icon_on_Desktop

If the feature is supported on your printer,

Use HP Scan > Save to Email > select Installed Outlook client.

This is not "the Share" option found in HP Smart, the scan window preview is tiny, but HP Scan can usually connect to Outlook.
