Offline printer/scan program

My printer is the HP Officejet Pro 8715. Originally the printer/scan feature was stand alone. How do I install this feature on my new computer for the same printer? I do not want to use the HP Smart app.

 You can install the printer and scanner feature for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 on your Windows 11 computer without using the HP Smart app by following these steps:

Install Using Windows Built-in Drivers

Connect the Printer

• Connect your printer to the computer using USB or Wi-Fi.
• Ensure the printer is powered ON.

Add Printer via Windows Settings

• Open Settings (Press Win + I).
• Go to Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
• Click Add device and select your printer from the list.
• If Windows does not find it automatically, click Add manually, choose Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Install Windows Drivers (If Needed)

• If the printer is detected but missing features, go to Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
• Expand Printers or Imaging devices.
• Right-click your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 and select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.

Install Full HP Drivers Without HP Smart App

Download the Full Driver Package (Without HP Smart)

• Visit the official HP Software and Drivers
• Search for HP OfficeJet Pro 8715.
• Download HP Full Feature Software and Driver (avoid "HP Smart" version).

Install the Software

• Run the downloaded .exe file.
• Follow the on-screen instructions, choosing USB or Network (Wi-Fi/Ethernet) setup.
• Do NOT sign in to HP Smart if prompted—select "Skip" or "Continue without HP Smart."

Verify Scanner Functionality

• Open Control Panel (Win + R > type control > Enter).
• Go to Devices and Printers > Right-click your printer > Start scan.

Use Windows Scan Instead of HP Smart

• Open the Windows Scan app (Win + S > search Scan).
• Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 from the list.
• Adjust settings and start scanning.
