I want to scan documents using my HP envy 4520 using my iPad and an HP app to do that. I once had an app that did that but that app is now gone and I cannot find another app to do that function.

Hi @mikesdok,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you're looking to scan documents from your HP Envy 4520 printer to your iPad using an HP app. Let's go through a few steps to set this up.

1. Install the HP Smart App

The HP Smart app is the official application for managing HP printers, including scanning documents directly to your iPad.

Download the HP Smart app from the App Store.

Connect your iPad to the same Wi-Fi network as your HP Envy 4520 printer.

Open the HP Smart app, and it should automatically detect your printer. If not, tap the "+" icon to add your printer manually.

2. Scan Documents Using the HP Smart App

Once your printer is connected:

Open the HP Smart app.

Select your HP Envy 4520 printer.

Tap on "Scan".

Choose your desired scan settings (e.g., color, resolution).

Place your document on the printer's scanner bed.

Tap "Scan" to begin scanning.

After scanning, you can save the document directly to your iPad or share it via email or cloud storage.

3. Troubleshooting Tips

If you encounter issues:

Ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Restart your printer and iPad to resolve any connectivity issues.

Check for updates for both the HP Smart app and your printer's firmware.

I hope this helps.
