I am trying to find the software required to scan a document using Optical Character Recognition. I thought the unit included the software but I can't find it.

Hi,

One option would be to follow HP Easy Start by selecting the HP Full Feature Software, be sure not to remove the IRIS OCR option and then you can select Scan as Editable Text within the HP Scan Software:

Another option would be to use HP Smart Tasks within HP Smart, which offer OCR capabilities too:
