PROBLEMS WITH SCANNER

HAVE BEEN USING SCANNER REGULARLY WITH NO PROBLEMS.  HAD TO UNPLUG PRINTER/SCANNER FOR A MINUTE AND SINCE THEN, I CANNOT SCAN FROM HPSMART AP, WHICH I WAS USING BEFORE.  i CAN SCAN FROM THE PRINTER (HP  ENVY7645), AND USING THE PRINT AND SCAN DOCTOR, I CAN ALSO SCAN.  BUT IT WILL NOT WORK IN HPSMART, MESSAGING THAT THE PRINTER  IS OFFLINE OR NOT PLUGGED IN.  i'VE DONE ALL THE REBOOTS SUGGESTED OF MY LAP TOP AND THE PRINTER WITH NO LUCK.  i'VE GONE THROUGH PRINT AND SCAN DOCTOR A HALF-DOZEN TIMES, BUT NO LUCK.  I'M NOT TECH SAVVY; NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE.

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Can you "Forget the printer" from HP Smart and try adding the printer again?

Tap and hold on the printer icon in HP Smart and select "Forget"

Tap on the "+" icon and then add a printer.  If your printer is connected to the network, HP Smart will find it and then follow the steps to complete adding the printer.   After that, you should be able to scan.

If the printer is not connected, follow the steps in the example below to get it connected to the netwrok:
