My HP 9010 Series Printer says there is a document scanner jam, but all the paper has been cleared

  • Inspect the Document Feeder: Open the document feeder cover and carefully inspect the rollers and the entire paper path for any shreds of paper, labels, or other debris. Use a flashlight if necessary to see into the feeder mechanism.
  • Manually Rotate Rollers: Sometimes, debris can get stuck around the rollers. Gently rotate the rollers manually to see if you can dislodge any obstruction.
  • Use Compressed Air: If you can't see any visible obstruction, try using a can of compressed air to blow out any dust or debris that might be stuck inside. Make sure to do this gently to avoid damaging any components.
  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can clear out any temporary glitches.
  • Reset the Printer: If the issue persists, try resetting the printer to its factory settings. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates include fixes for common issues like this.
