Two months ago, my Photosmart C3150 stopped communicating with laptop (I bought my laptop in February 2011 and it worked up with the printer until May 2022).  I connect the printer via USB and my computer says that the printer is "offline."   No matter what I do I couldn't get my computer to recognize the printer.  I can't find the installation CD, but otherwise I have tried everything.  On a whim this past weekend, I bought a new USB cable and it worked!  I printed a test page and did a simple scan and I thought everything was good.  I had to shut off the printer to move it while re-organizing in my house and of course, now the laptop is back to not recognizing the printer.  I know that I will probably have to get a new printer but I was hoping to keep this one going for a few months.  Please help!

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Photosmart C3150 All-in-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 

I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:

 

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.
