Photosmart M415 camera driver

Need a driver or app for HP Photosmart M415 Camera I'm running a iMac computer OS Tahoe 26.5,2 inherited this camera from my father-in-law and would like to download the photos & movies on it for my wife to look at.

Thank you for posting your query. I understand you'd like to access the photos and videos stored on your HP Photosmart M415 so your wife can enjoy those memories.

The good news is that you do not need an HP driver or special HP software to transfer photos from this camera to your iMac.
 

Option 1: Use the SD Memory Card (Recommended):

This is usually the easiest and most reliable method with older cameras.
 

1. Remove the SD memory card from the camera.
    
2. Insert the card into your iMac's SD card slot, or use a USB-C SD card adapter if needed.
    
3. Open the Photos app on your Mac.
    
4. The card should appear automatically, allowing you to import the photos and videos.

If Photos does not open automatically, open Finder, locate the card under Locations, and browse to the DCIM folder to copy the files manually.
 

Option 2: Connect the Camera via USB:

If you have the camera's USB cable:
 

1. Turn on the camera and connect it to your iMac.
    
2. Open Image Capture (press Command + Space, type Image Capture, and press Enter).
    
3. Select the camera from the list of devices.
    
4. Choose a destination folder and click Download All.

If Neither Method Works

If the camera is not recognized, the SD card may still be readable even when the camera's USB connection is not, so the SD card method is generally the best option for older devices.
