Hi there @Johnp1948, and welcome to HP Support Community!
Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.
Pinning the scanner to the taskbar in Windows 11 works a bit differently than in Windows 10, but you can still achieve it using the HP Smart app or Windows Fax and Scan. Here are a few options:
Option 1: Use HP Smart App (Recommended)
HP Smart is the modern way to scan and manage your printer. You can pin it to the taskbar for quick access.
Steps:
- Install HP Smart (if not already installed): HP Smart
- Open HP Smart and sign in or add your printer.
- Once the app is open, right-click the HP Smart icon on the taskbar and select “Pin to taskbar.”
- You can now launch scanning directly from HP Smart.
Option 2: Use Windows Fax and Scan
If you prefer the classic Windows scan interface:
Steps:
Press Windows + S and search for “Windows Fax and Scan.”
Right-click the result and choose “Pin to taskbar.”
Open the app → Click “New Scan” → Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 → Start scanning.
Option 3: Create a Shortcut to Scan Executable (Advanced)
If you want direct access to the scan executable:
Steps:
- Navigate to:
C:\Program Files\HP\HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 series\Bin\ - (Path may vary slightly depending on driver version.)
- Look for a file like HPScan.exe.
- Right-click → Send to → Desktop (create shortcut)
- Then drag the shortcut to the taskbar to pin it.
