I normally could scan from my printer to an email.  My printer is hooked up to my modem.  When I click Scan, to email, the printer says:  The printer could not connect to the server.  Touch Settings to check your proxy settings or touch "Print Report" to diagnose the problem.  It says:  The address for the Proxy Server is Incorrect.  I am not sure what IP address is needed.  That of the Modem, the Rotor, or my Printer.  I've tried a couple, but then it wants a PORT.  I don't know what port to use.  Please help.

Thank you for clearing that up.  Knowing they were asking for the email outgoing mail port really helped.  I put in that number and the IP address of the Modem linked by Ethernet cable to the HP 5745 printer, but it didn't help.  I checked on CenturyLink, and 587 was the correct port.  I'm not sure what to do.  Oddly, the name of my friend's Wi-Fi is CenturyLink9566 (her old modem still here in the box), Her new modem is model Centurylink0850.  I tried updating the IP address to the one on this modem, but that did not fix my issue.  Centurylink installed this modem for her, and scanning worked for a while, but quit.  I think she's going to need the Geek Squad to figure it out.
