On line support transferred me to this guy. Agent in India  took control and flipped through a bunch of screens, even viewer etc. Showed several malicious agents. Agent  wanted to do this instead. I hung up!

I did deep full scans with Windows defender and MalwareBytes. No issues!

I'm sorry you were nearly snared.

 

Nothing about this was anything "HP Support" -- not even HP adjacent.

 

There are SO many scammer websites, it is easy to trip over one.

 

Good job getting away seemingly unscathed.

 

Having let someone you don't know into your computer to dance around in your private information is indeed dangerous.

 

Consider what the scoundrel might have found or copied...

 

Change everyone of your passwords, including the one to your network.
