HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw

When trying to send a large fax the unit will reset partway through. When it comes back online it attempts to redial, but again resets causing a never-endling loop. The only message given in the log under result is "Power Fail".

The unit, MFP M227 fdw, is brand new and we have been fighting this issue since it was first setup. We've been able to narrow down that it happens when sending dense pages (i.e. images, rather than pages of text). Text only faxes send fine, we've tested up to a 44 page fax and it worked. However, sending even a half-dozen pages of images plus a cover page causes the problem to show up. It occurs after 4-5 pages into wherever the images are placed. If near the beginning, it gets to about page 5. If led with text pages it could get through all the text before failing (30 pages, 25 pages of text go through but it fails after page 27).

I've read through the existing suggestions and tried with both error correction off and error correction on. I've made sure it was set to standard resolution, slow speed. Fax-ring has been tried at both 20 (lowest setting) and 55 (highest setting). I even reduced the page darkness to its lightest setting and the balanced setting. Nothing seems to make any difference. I also made sure that it was connected to the network to get the latest update, and tried it with two different phone lines into the wall jack.

This has occurred when sending to two different fax numbers to two different companies, so I know it is not on the receiving end. Any other suggestions or possibilities? Splitting it into multiple smaller faxes is not an option as the receiving unit automatically bundles things and that would cause them not to be associated due to having separate fax received ID's.

Any help is appreciated,

Joel
