I successfully managaed to get the above printer installed and printing in black only, thanks to Shlomil, but when I put new cartridges in, it successfully printed (only in black) the cartridge alignment page. It then requested me to put this page on the glass scanner in order to Align the cartidges.
That is where my issue now stands, because the screen says "Aligning... please wait" and nothing more happens.
Any body with a solution.?
Is it perhaps because I put in a new color cartidge which has been sitting in the box for a couple of years and has perhaps dried up?
The printer may be looking for color and cant find it???
If I try pressing any buttons, then I get a "scan error" message
Any suggestions?

I'm glad you were able to get the printer installed.
Since you are unable to do the Alignment, this seems to be an issue with the Color Cartridges ( Dried Ink ).
You can try a Printer Reset.
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
If that doesn't work, then you need to replace the Color Cartridges since both Color and Black Ink are needed for the Alignment process.
Thanks. 🙂
